Overnight on Thursday 3 October, over fifty pupils from Fourth Form through to Upper Sixth were accompanied by staff members as they volunteered to leave the comfort and warmth of their duvets and dig out their sleeping bags for a night on the Quad under the stars!
The Sleep Out on the Quad is a fantastic fundraising event for the St John’s Eagle Community Holiday, our annual residential holiday scheme which offers a week of fun, laughter, and heart warming moments for children and young people with disabilities, aged 10-18.
Participants in the Sleep Out were encouraged to raise funds to support their involvement, and we are immensely proud of the enthusiastic response from our pupils. Their commitment exemplifies the spirit of community and our core values at St John’s.
Despite the weather, the atmosphere and collective camaraderie was fantastic. Pupils and staff were most grateful to warm up over hot chocolate and breakfast in the morning, and will remember this experience for a long time to come.
