Old Johnian RFC is the official Old Boys rugby club of the school, re-established in 2010.

The club continues to thrive as a strong, player-run team. Over the past three seasons alone, 53 former St John’s pupils have returned to represent the club — a testament to the lasting connection our players have with the School and with each other.

While we proudly encourage Old Johnians to come back and pull on the shirt, the squad also welcomes wider recruits. Many former pupils bring along university teammates, colleagues, and friends who are keen to continue (or even begin) their rugby journey as they move into the working world.

We play a competitive standard of rugby, balanced with a strong social spirit. Our season runs from September through to April, with Saturday fixtures and weekly training sessions at our current home, Wimbledon RFC. Alongside our games, the season includes Christmas socials, Six Nations days, post-match gatherings at the clubhouse, and access to international tickets at Allianz Stadium. Each year, we also have the privilege of returning to play a fixture on the School’s 1st XV pitch.

We also offer a range of sponsorship opportunities, with advertising available on match shirts and across our social channels. A number of Old Johnians already support the club in this way, and we would be delighted to discuss tailored partnership options.
