Calling all Alumni!
We would be thrilled if you are able to take part in the St John's School Careers Convention on Tuesday 13th October, which will take place from 6:30-8:30pm, with set-up and refreshments available from 5pm. Both St John's pupils and pupils from local state schools will be invited to attend.
The event will be in a careers fair format with contributors sat behind desks representing their sector and fielding questions from pupils and parents, but this year we will also have two break-out panel Q&A discussions. One of these will be on employability skills that employers look for in the modern world and how pupils can develop these, for example ethical use of AI, communication, resilience, etc. The other will be on different pathways that pupils might want to consider, for instance the traditional university route but also apprenticeships, art college, drama school, conservatoire, university in another country, etc.
If you are willing to attend, please can you complete this form: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/e/PGDccX2kFN? and email hello@stjohns.surrey.sch.uk with a career summary paragraph (or organisation summary paragraph if you are a university or gap year provider) to go in the booklet for the event by Friday 4th September.
If are are not able to attend on the 13th of October, but would be willing to offer a careers workshop or talk on a date convenient to you instead, please let us know that too.
Any questions please email development@stjohns.surrey.sch.uk
